Wheat Puttu/Ghothambu Puttu
Ingredients
Atta - 2 cup
Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup
water
salt
Method
- Take atta in a bowl add salt and mix well.
- add water little at a time and mix with fingers.
- Break any wheat balls forms during mixing.
- The atta mixture should be just wet for steaming.
- In the puttu maker add 1 tsp grated coconut at the bottom.
- Add prepared atta to the puttu maker.
- Again add some grated coconut then atta mixture to the puttu maker till the top.
- Again put some grated coconut on the top.
- Now fill the puttu pot with water, cover the cylinderical tube with lid and fix it on the pot.Keep it on te high flame.
- once the water start boiling in the pot, you will see steam escaping from the holes on the top of the cylindrical tube, reduce the flame and cook for 5-6 min
- Now the ghothambu puttu is ready serve it with kadala curry , green peas curry
